Mt. Pulag (Kabayan, Benguet, Philippines)
This was one rare moment where I didn’t have to look up to watch the clouds anymore. Because I was among them. Above, even. They seemed to be just a few steps away. I wanted to grab them or dive into them - feel them.
I shivered my way up and on the summit. My feet were so close to being numb. My hands were trembling. The air was literally taking my breath away. And yet, the clouds remained extremely beautiful to my eyes. It’s the ice-cold water after a Malipunyo dayhike. The exhilirating sunset of Mt. Daguldol. The perfect night sky in Mt. Manabu. The relief of reaching the top of Pico de Loro’s monolith. All the feelings in all those moments and a whole lot more, wrapped into one.
To me, the sky will always be the most beautiful creation in existence. I’ll never get tired of looking up.
“It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.”
“You may think your only choices are to swallow your anger or throw it in someone’s face, but there’s a third option - you can just let it go. And only when you do that is it really gone and you can move forward.”
